The Free Atty. Saladero et. al coalition is a broad coalition of workers unions, church groups, students, and lawyers groups who are campaigning for the release of Atty. Remigio Saladero Jr. and to stop political repression. It was launched at the Bantayog ng mga Bayani last November 13, 2008.
It is spearheaded by the Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU), Pro-Labor Assistance Center, and the Center for Trade Union and Human Rights. Other member organizations include Anakpawis Party-list, Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas, Solidarity Philippines, United Churches of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP), Ecumenical Institute for Labor Education, Institute for Occupational Health and Safety Development, Lex Leonum Fraternitas of the San Beda College, National Federation of Labor Unions-KMU, Ilaw at Buklod ng Manggagawa-KMU, Association of Democratic Labor Organizations-KMU, and others.
The co-chairs of the coalition are Wilson Baldonaza, KMU executive vice-president, and Bishop Emeritus Gabriel Garol of UCCP.
The spokesperson of the coalition is Maricel Saladero, Atty. Saladero’s wife.
